a glimpse at what we've been up to...

We've been busy doing a lot of different things to get ready for Sam to come home!

Selling & delivering t-shirts...

(you can still buy one - just look at the top, right hand side of this page!)

Painting a blue room - a first for me! This isn't the best picture, but you can see the blue walls and his bedding. Thanks to some gift cards from sweet friends, I was able to get "Madras" from Pottery Barn which I love!

Looking at documents that are coming in the mail...

Some we can understand...

...and some we can't!

We've also been watching a little bit of this guy!
His name is Pororo and apparently he's a very popular character in Korea for the little ones! We're hoping to purchase some type of Pororo toy (thanks eBay!!) to have on the plane coming home. He's a cute little guy, isn't he?!

And the most exciting news of all happened on one of our (many!) snow days we had a few weeks ago. I was in my room when this sweet girl

brought in a piece of paper and sat in down beside me and walked out. When I looked down at the paper, this is what I saw...

It says, "I want to be a Christian."

Wow!! Really?!? My heart skipped a beat and I immediately began praying. I prayed for wisdom in talking with Addie. I prayed for her to have understanding. I prayed out of thanksgiving to God.

For the next 45 minutes, my Addie girl and I talked about what it meant to follow Christ. We talked about who God is and who we are before Him without Jesus and who we are before Him with Jesus. We talked about sin and how that keeps us from God. We talked about what it means to give God total control of our lives and live for Him and not ourselves. We talked about so many different things - most of which Lee and I have discussed with her many times before. After talking for a while, she told me she was sure she was ready to give her life to Jesus and follow Him forever!

I cannot begin to tell you the joy that overwhelmed me on that day. We have prayed for her salvation from the moment we found out we were going to be parents!

For each one of my children, I have written in a journal for them from the first day I found out I was pregnant (for Sam, it was the day we started the adoption process). I looked back at Addie's journal and found this prayer written when I was only 12 weeks pregnant: "Sweet Jesus, I pray for this child. Please bring salvation at an early age and I pray Lee and I will encourage our children and show them YOU!" On her first day of Kindergarten, I wrote this: "Lord, I pray for Addie. I pray the Holy Spirit will work in her life and draw her to You. I pray she'll see a need for a Savior and that she'll come to know you quickly!"

There is no greater joy for Lee and I than to see our kiddos follow after Christ! I consider it a privilege to disciple our children and teach them the truth found in God's Word!

  1. I just got chills reading this. I pray for this too and I get so anxious that it has not happened yet with my own too. God kepts reminding me in His own time. So excited for what God is doing in your family's life.

  2. Wow, Min! Not a good idea to read this before I have to go to the school. I have tears running down my face!! You and Lee have raised two beautiful, God-loving girls and I couldn't think of a better family for Sam to come into. Your family is a true example of God's love!! Love you!
